At Kingshill Church School the children are very pleased with their new library and wanted to have the responsibility of taking care of it and supporting the children in school with book recommendations and choosing books. We are very lucky to have a well stocked library.
All of the children in KS2 were invited to apply to be librarians. Children were then invited to an interview and successful children were offered the role of librarian through personalised offer letters. The children’s knowledge of books and how reading can unlock so much of the curriculum was impressive.
The librarians have weekly librarian slots to ensure the library is kept tidy and support classes when they use the library.
