Kingshill Church School Eco Council

At Kingshill Church School the children are passionate about treating the environment with respect and playing an active part in finding ways to reduce the impact of climate change.

All of the children were invited to apply to represent their class on the eco council. Children were then invited to an interview and successful children were offered the role of eco councillor through personalised offer letters. The children’s knowledge of environmental issues and their passion to be able to positively influence change was very impressive.

The Eco council meet once a half term. However, between our meetings the children are working with their classes to put initiatives into action.

Eco council have been responsible for keeping the courtyard and pond areas tidy, supporting other children with lunchtime litter picks, supported with our school travel plan and are thinking about fundraising ideas for the future.
